The Laura Manship Quartet was founded by students at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2005. Their repertoire consists of classic jazz standards and arrangements. The ensemble generally consists of piano/guitar, bass, drums and flute/vocals, however the group often adapts this combination to suit the performance/venue appropriately. This also includes the addition of a horn section consisting of Trumpet, Trombone and Saxophone to create a larger band. The group performs regularly around the UK, as well as their own solo work and performing with other jazz/funk/soul collectives throughout the UK. The quartet recently performed as part of the RNCM spotlight series, supporting jazz singer, Clare Teal, at the Royal Northern College of Music.
